Sample Itinerary
Namib Desert: The coastal Namib Desert runs along the west coast of Namibia. It is the only coastal desert and is the oldest desert in the world. Its tall dunes rise and fall like the waves that crash on its shores and are ever changing with the winds. It is host to popular sites such as Sossusvlei, the town of Swakupmund, the Diamond Coast, the dune Big Daddy, Deadvlei, Sandwich Harbour, Kolmanskop Ghost Town, the Skeleton Coast, and more
Sossusvlei: When you think of Sossusvlei, think of this: a backdrop of sunset orange dunes with ancient looking trees rising out of white salt plains. This is one of the most photographed and iconic areas of Namibia due to its rich colors and striking contrasts. Its haunting and yet wistful beauty will remain in your mind for many years to come.
Swakopmund: Set in the legendary Skeleton Coast of Namibia is the adventurous town of Swakupmund. This is a town for everyone – it has activities such as quad biking, hot air balloon rides, and dune carting over the sunset-colored dunes of the Namib Desert. It is also home to more relaxed activities such as visiting quaint cafes, art galleries, and intriguing shops. Near to this town are options to visit ghost towns, lagoons to see thousands of blush-pink flamingos, and riding camels through the desert.
Skeleton Coast: The Skeleton Coast is in the northwest coastline of Namibia where the dunes of the desert landscape clash into the Atlantic Ocean. Because of the unique landscape, it has an ecosystem of species who have developed clever ways to survive this harsh terrain. The park is home to the largest ship cemetery in the world. Here you will be able to fly over or drive through the shipwrecks in an eerie and fascinating education in the power of nature vs. man.
Okonjima Private Reserve: In between Windhoek and Etosha National Park, nestled in the Omboroko Mountains and Acacia trees, lays the family-run Okonjima Nature Reserve. The reserve is best known for its leopard, brown hyaena, and pangolin sightings. Home to the Africat Foundation, the reserve provides a chance to witness rehabilitated big cats, including leopards and cheetahs, in their natural environment. Guests at Okonjima can enjoy exclusive game drives, superb lodging options, and the satisfaction of contributing to the preservation of Namibia’s majestic wildlife.
