Sample Itinerary
Nairobi: Ranked as Africa’s fourth-largest city, Nairobi exudes vibrancy and excitement. Despite its reputation for brief tourist visits, the city boasts captivating attractions, including a lively café culture, vibrant nightlife, the National Museum, and the intriguing Karen Blixen Museum. Remarkably, a mere 20 minutes from the city center, Nairobi hosts the world’s only urban game reserve, where wild lions and buffalo roam freely.
Samburu National Reserve: Nestled on the fringe of northern Kenya’s savannah, the Samburu reserve, though rugged and semi-desert, thrives with diverse landscapes. Positioned along the Ewaso Ngiro River, it is one of three interconnected game reserves. Despite not being the most renowned, Samburu offers exceptional game viewing with its mix of savannahs and forests, hosting all the big cats and featuring a unique ‘Samburu Big 5,’ which includes the Grevy’s zebra, long-necked gerenuk, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, and Somali ostrich.
Masai Mara National Reserve: The Masai Mara Game Reserve is well-known for its incredible big game experiences, incredible cultures, and extensive selection of luxury safari camps. It is the original safari destination that began the fascination and obsession with Africa; the stories of its legendary game viewing and migrations having been passed down through the generations. Enjoy opportunities for game viewing, cultural interactions, and breathtaking landscapes during your time in this area.
Chem Chem Private Reserve: The Chem Chem Private Reserve is a 50,000-acre property privately owned and managed by a large-hearted staff with the desire to protect and restore the incredible wildlife of Tanzania. This reserve lies in the middle of an ancient migration route for elephants and other species that was decimated by logging and other industry. Their hard work has led to the full restoration of this land and the return of a rich ecosystem. Here you can learn about this unique restoration process and see the fruit of their work: herds of elephants, lions, giraffe, as well as the rich tribal culture of Tanzania.
